Warehouse Manager

Our Company is one of North America's largest architectural glass & aluminum fabricators and distributors, with many locations nationwide. We are currently seeking an electrical / mechanical maintenance technician to work at our City of Industry, California location. Summary: The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for daily management of fleet and Class A and B drivers. This position will arrange for all pick-up and delivery of full container load deliveries.  Transportation Warehouse Manager will also oversee company compliance/safety efforts in conjunction with General Branch manager, Plant Manager, Sales Manager, and Environmental Health/ Safety Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Manage Warehouse functions and staff (Drivers, Loaders/Unloaders) to include interviewing, hiring, training, and counseling as needed.
  • Prepares documentation for Delivery, Shipping, and Receiving as needed.
  • Maintain driver's roster with expiration dates of compliance requirements.
  • Develops schedules, responsible for dispatching and coordinating all outgoing delivery trucks to Customer locations.
  • Coordinates Pre-Employment and Random Drug Testing
  • Maintains specific Department of Transportation compliance to include but not limited to:  Drivers license/CDL renewals, medical examiners certificate renewals, annual review of all drivers "Motor Vehicle Records", Annual review of all drivers "Certificate of Violations", annual vehicle inspections, audit drivers logs and trip reports, review driver "Qualification Files" to ensure they are in compliance with DOT requirements
  • Set-up and maintain documentation process for daily outbound deliveries and inbound receiving log, verifying merchandise received matches purchase orders.
  • Complete damaged merchandise/discrepancy paperwork and prepare damaged merchandise for transfer
  • Audit pallets picked to measure accuracy.
  • Observe and promote established safety procedures and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Maintain driver's roster with expiration dates of compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate movement and transfer of equipment.
  • Review transportation accidents for insurance coverage.
  • Continuous training and reinforcement on all transportation issues.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the software and how to effectively use it.  Identify opportunities for simplification, increased effectiveness, and promote these changes.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                

  • Manage Shipping and Transportation functions for both glass and aluminum productions distribution.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Five years’ experience in the transportation of goods and material and three to five years managing people; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Experience with Internet and Microsoft Office software.
